Taekwon-Do is the scientific use of the body in the method of self-defense; a body that has gained the ultimate use of its faculties through intensive physical and mental training. In Taekwon-Do we practice a wide variety of techniques. Not only do we practice kicking and punching, but we also have a variety of thrusts, arm-locks, releases, foot sweeps, self-defense and mental training. Taekwon-Do training leads to a healthy body and mind. The Taekwon-Do practitioner learns a way of life based on the tenets of Taekwon-Do contained with the Student Oath: courtesy, integrity, perseverance, self-control, and loyalty. While the exercises provide a good physical work out which leads to a more fit physical state, the student also finds inner peace through Taekwon-Do and meditation. Taekwon-Do teaches patience, humility, courage, discipline and self-confidence which transforms the student into a person who is more at peace with his or her surroundings; someone with a more positive outlook on life who is prepared to help build a more Peaceful world. Master Sam Saroughi. 7th Dan Black Belt ITF international Taekwon-do federation, Korea Taekwon-Do Association International Master Instructor and Examiner, Coach of Canadian national team.
